Here are some more fun family photos from our Christmas Mini Sessions. The Satterfield's, the Applegarth's, and the Hansel's, came to our studio in Lincoln Nebraska on a snowy Saturday and let us capture their unique personalities. They even got to enjoy some yummy treats from Le Cupcake, which explains all the smiling faces! Thanks for being so much fun to work with, you folks were awesome!

A few of my favorites 2014| It’s all in the details…weddings of 2014
I wanted to share some of my favorite weddings of 2014. There is too much for one post, so I figured I would break it up over the next few weeks. Many brides spend lots of hours on the small details of their wedding. Sites like pinterest have made those of us who are craft challenged, a little better at coming up with the perfect details. Here are a few of my favorite detail shots of last year and they happen to be one of the fun parts of taking pictures. I am always amazed at what brides come up with!Special thanks to www.JennWiemann.com , http://www.emiandlynnsphotography.com , http://spencerstudiosphotography.com/, and http://www.nussbaumphotography.com/ for allowing me to work along side of you in 2014. I had a wonderful time with you ladies and your talent is amazing!
Snow Princess || Creative Personal Shoot – Lincoln
Every once in awhile I get a chance to go out and do a little creative work. There is something that is therapeutic about planning out a shoot, planning out the details, and then watching as it all comes together.
I had gotten this pink parachute awhile back, and it's been in storage for months because the opportunity to use it hadn't presented itself yet. As winter has been hanging around here for awhile now, I've found myself watching lots of movies, and that includes catching up on my GOT, lol. All of my ideas, the parachute, and recent tv watching helped to form what you see.
Huge Thanks to my Model Cami
The B Family welcomes a new member ~ Lincoln Family Photographer
I met the B family through the school their oldest attends. I have had the pleasure of taking Mr. L's picture for a couple of years now, and he is a super handsome guy. They have recently welcomed a 2nd little guy into their lives and I was invited out to see their new home and capture some moments just between them. Lots of newness around there. These little men are both the cutest and mom and dad were so wonderful to meet and work with!

A few of my favorites 2014| Getting ready behind the scenes….weddings of 2014
In keeping with my review of favorites of 2014, I wanted to share some behind the scene, getting ready pictures. I often find that being there for the getting ready part of the wedding is where I learn the most about a couple. I get to see their family and friends, those that are in the wedding and those that are there to celebrate along side the couple. I see the reasons that they fell in love, through laughter, interactions, tears, and more. Having the privilege to hang out while you get ready to celebrate a hugely important part of your day is an honor.
I hope to be able to be apart of these moments with many couples this year and those to come. See more of my review of 2014 here.....http://lexlogan.photography/?p=264
Best of 2015 – Wedding Photography Lincoln Nebraska
Pretty excited to get this in an email a few months ago. However, I am just getting time to share it. Someone out there loves me and that makes me so happy! Getting a Best of 2015 is an amazing honor and I am so humbled that it is all because of my wonderful clients, families, friends, and fans.

A HUGE thanks to all my wedding, engagement, seniors and families this year. It has been amazing and I can't wait to see you all again in the years to come.

Kyrstyn & Tony Love Shoot | Lincoln Ne Engagement Photographer
Kyrstyn and Tony are getting married in March of this year and we got to sneak in a few pictures of the two of them between chilly days. It was a jacket on, jacket off to hurry to grab a picture kinda day. But they toughed it out and one can tell that these two have lots of love for one another. I am looking forward to their wedding day and meeting all their loved ones. Until then, here is a few of them just being them....
Just you and I| Weddings of 2014 review Lincoln Wedding Photography
In keeping with my review of 2014 weddings and in honor of the weekend day of Love...I decided to post a few couple and individual pictures of bride and groom.
If you look on Pinterest these days, or Google, you can find hundreds of quotes on love, couple love, together love, parent love, etc, etc, etc. I really enjoy the idea of love and it is one of the main ideas that has drawn me to be a wedding photographer. I get to see it during engagement pictures, through the surrounding of family and friends that are there to celebrate the special wedding day, and in the pictures of the couple together. There is a giddiness, an excitement, butterflies if you will that surrounds a wedding day.
It is kinda amazing to me that one day two people can be complete strangers, then another they can mean the entire world to each other. I hope your weekend was filled with the joy of a loved one, be it your best friend, your child, your fur baby or partner in life. We celebrated our 17th year of Valentine's quietly and enjoyed every minute of it!
Courtney and Joe get Married! Omaha Weddings and Engagements
It's been awhile since I've had the time to sit and blog. I've enjoyed every minute of this year (it's been my busiest to date), and although I've done a ton of picture taking, I've really been a slacker in sharing those pictures with everyone. So I figured I would start by catching up with one from the beginning of this crazy fun wedding season. Joe and Courtney were amazing to work with. Both were fun, nervous for the day, and had a great surrounding of family and friends to celebrate with them. One of the best things was while they were celebrating their 1st day of marriage, I was celebrating my 17 year.We started the day by heading to the salon where Courtney met us and had her makeup done, shared in watching her bridesmaids get ready, and having a fun morning with the girls. Then off to the church we went. It was a beautiful ceremony with many special touches for the couple. Since both Courtney and Joe work with music, they had great touches of a live band and brass quartet incorporated into their day. The ceremony was followed by a fun bus ride and a reception at Bellevue Berry Farm, where lawn games, a smores bar, and simple, yet elegant decor helped to fill their evening with a great time. I was so happy to share in their beautiful day and can't wait to see where life takes this couple!

Tony & Kyrstyn Get Married | Lincoln Ne Wedding Photography
March 7, 2015 | Tony & Kyrstyn get married!
You couldn't have asked for a more beautiful March day! The weather was great, the couple was so in love, and the people that surrounded them were all so sweet. Tony and Kyrstyn celebrated their special day by starting with friends and family. We went to local park with a ballpark for their first look. They love going to baseball games together, so it was a great idea to start their wedding day at some place that held meaning to them both. From there we hung out with family and friends a bit before heading to Cornhusker Social Hall for their ceremony and reception. The wedding was simple, beautiful, fun and packed full of love.
Congrats to you both on your beautiful day!
Family Pictures in the Haymarket
Catching up on blogging, I'm forever behind. I am finally happy to be able to share some of the wonderful pictures I've taken this year.
I met this lovely family through other clients of mine and was so happy when Mom contacted me about doing pictures for them. I have to say, these guys were amazing! Sweet with one another, their little guy was super cute and we had a great time in the Haymarket area of downtown Lincoln.
Enjoy!
Miss Alicia Senior Class 2016
Graduating Class of 2016: Miss Alicia | Lincoln Nebraska Senior Photography
I was introduced to Alicia a year or so ago at her mom's wedding that I had the privilege of photographing. Her mom and step dad are a blast so I knew Alicia wouldn't be any different! Even though she lives closer to Omaha, we decided to do pictures here in Lincoln so that she would have a different change of scenery than those of her friends. We had a beautiful day and I was happy to show Rich, Malisa and Alicia around town to some fun spots. We visited the UNL East Campus, the Nebraska State Capitol, some new parts of the Antelope Creek Valley and a local park. It was a jam packed day and we managed to get so many fantastic pictures!
Alicia, I wish you the best of luck at Graduation and beyond!
Abby // Southeast Class of 2019 // Lincoln Nebraska, High School Senior
Abby// Southeast Class of 2019
I haven't blogged in so long, I actually had to look up some directions on how to go about it, lol. 2019/2020 school year was a big one in our household. Our 1st born graduated and although I was still photographing so many lovely people, I totally neglected to share them all with everyone. So without further ado, I plan to blog some of the past beautiful people that I had the pleasure to photograph!
Meet Abby Southeast Class of 2019
Abby is one of the most genuine people I've ever gotten to know! She has an amazing kind heart, is incredibly smart, and a great runner. She was so sweet and took my daughter under her wing, so to speak, during cross country. She even came back several times over the summer and during this running season. I know she is going to be doing great things!
Matt & Jackie Engagement | Lincoln NE wedding photographer
Matt & Jackie | Engagement pictures
I met Matt & Jackie last year and was overjoyed that they choose me to be a part of their wedding. They wanted to celebrate their love and their family in some engagement pictures. We visited Pioneers Park and the Antelope Creek Valley Project in Lincoln NE to capture a few moments. Right away they told me they weren't huge into pictures, but I managed to get some great shots of both of them and of the kids. It is hard not to get great stuff when a couple is obviously so in love! I loved the story of the two of them and how they came to be. Re-connecting on social media after many years and Matt giving her a great Christmas gift of foreverness.
Between 3 kids, traveling for Matt's company Sideline Power, and cheering for the Packers, these guys are always on the go!
Next week is their wedding and I absolutely can't wait for the Starr's to align (<---- see what I did there, lol)
Interview with a Lincoln Wedding Vendor| Le Cupcake
We decided that we would love to feature some local wedding and other all around great vendors that are local to the Lincoln area. Supporting those that are local is something that is huge to us! As we get to know these amazing people that work tirelessly in our community, I hope that you find someone helpful or something that you just can't live without!
Le Cupcake
I first met Maria at my brother's wedding 2 years ago. She brought them a fantastic cake, that had multiple flavors and a beautiful design. I knew talking with her and her staff would be a joy because she is seriously all smiles! You can really tell she and her staff have a passion for decorating and for the cupcake/cake world. They were quite busy the day I visited, and even let me watch them make several wedding cakes, cakepops, and cupcakes for the local farmers market. Le Cupcake has been featured on Cupcake Wars, has won several awards including Best in Lincoln, is part of the Better Business Bureau, and the Knot.
Le Cupcake is located at 5563 South 48th Street, in the same parking lot as the Garage. They are open Monday thru Friday 8 to 6 and on Saturday from 8 to 5.

Virginia & Fred Get Married : Bellevue Berry Farm Omaha Nebraska
Virginia & Fred got married Last June at the quaint little Old Presbyterian Church in Bellevue on Franklin Street. This is a super fun, one room church that provides a historic romantic feel, built in the 1850s! From there we took a ride on Olley the Trolly to OPPD arboretum for some pictures and then onto Bellevue Berry Farm for the reception. They had close family and friends help them celebrate their love that was years in the making (high school friends found love in later years of renewed friendship, wow what a romantic story). Congrats to these two!
Shutterfest Day 1: St. Louis City Museum
Fellow photographer friends of mine came home last year telling me how much fun and how much they loved this photo conference called Shutterfest. I decided to join them this year on their trip, to learn more about all aspects of photography, to socialize and meet photographers from around the country, and to shoot some amazing stuff.
So, Sunday day, I packed up my gear and headed to St. Louis.
The conference officially starts tomorrow, but coming today allowed me to be in the middle of some amazing shoots. I got to go to a place downtown called the City Museum. It is like the Children's museum on steroids. This place is packed full of slides, ladders, and full of tunnels and caves. You can crawl, climb, and play around on everything. There was a cave, a 10 story slide, a airplane, a whale , a huge pencil, and so much more. I managed to get there about 2 hours before I needed to meet up with the 50 + other photogs that would be shooting there, so I got to play around quite a bit before getting to work. I would highly recommend this place for all ages if you get a chance to come to St. Louis.
Here are a few pictures of the museum and a couple of some of the many images I got. Enjoy!
Fun Wedding Decor – Real Nebraska Weddings
If you are like me (Alexis), craftiness is not something I was blessed with. However, I am always so amazed at all the beautiful decor I get to see at weddings. It is one of those little things that many brides to be spend hours on with family members, diving into Pinterest for the budget friendly options, and asking friends "what did you do" type questions.
So I thought I'd give a little inspiration out there for with some of the beautiful simple pieces I saw this past year. Enjoy!
Andrea and Brian get married // Lincoln Wedding Photography // Lincoln Nebraska
Andrea and Brian wanted something simple that friends and family could enjoy. Their wedding happened in March of 2019 not too long after major flooding in Nebraska and Iowa. After fearing that some family wouldn't be able to make it, things worked out for the best! They were joined by those they loved for a beautiful Sunday morning wedding and reception with a fun brunch!
Congrats to the wonderful Mr. & Mrs. Halder! You had a beautiful wedding!

Starr Wedding Lincoln Nebraska Apothecary
Matt & Jackie Starr Lincoln NE Wedding
Matt & Jackie got married this past Friday and I loved everything about their wedding!
We started the day at their home, had some donuts and laughed about makeup and hair (the fact that airbrush makeup is like magic, and most the gals don't do the getting all dressed up thing). The gals from Salon Chic were there to do hair and Makeup. Shayla Sexton did hair, and was quick and made beautiful work of short and long hair alike. The girls got beautiful in no time! Lo Bruner did the make-up and I noticed she worked really well with how much you were comfortable having on. These two gals made the ladies gorgeous! The boys had a get together of their own and Jackie's middle son was super excited to be apart of that fun. They had both their ceremony and reception at the Apothecary building in the Haymarket of Downtown Lincoln. Their ceremony was intimate with family and close friends in the Loft, and the reception so much bigger in the Ridnour Room. Before the ceremony we met up with the guys and gals and did group shots and individuals, and of course some bride and groom goodness. I loved the grey tuxes for the guys and the long blue dresses for the gals. TJ got a special yellow dress with the coolest horse broach on the side. Of course we threw in some pictures with Matt's headsets! The food at the reception was amazing and I got to talk with the caters from Louisville Main Street Cafe a bit. They seem to stay pretty busy and it was no doubt why, the roast was juicy, the chicken moist, and the veggies were super good. Matt & Jackie chose Super Sue's Sweet Shoppe for their cake and cupcakes. Wow! They tasted amazing as well. I've heard tons of great things about this bakery and was excited to finally get to try a bit of their work.DJ Rob Taylor set the mood with some great music that went well into the evening and a few special guests even made appearances.I felt like Matt & Jackie were part of my family the end of our time together. These two are amazing people and I wish them the best of luck for years to come!Ridnour Room
DoTerra Essential Oils by Deb || Lincoln Independent Consultant Environmental Headshots
Meet Deb
Deb sells doTerra Essential Oils
Deb is one of the most kind women I have had the pleasure of getting to know. She really wants to help ease our woes, one drop at a time.
Deb wanted to have some headshots that expressed some personality and fun, so we grabbed a bunch of her favorite items to help us out with this environmental headshot shoot!
I met Deb from my local BNI chapter and she introduced me to doTerra Essential Oils. I have never really been into the whole herbal treatment thing, although I know a lot of people are. I am sure that like most medicines, what works for some, doesn't always work for all. But even through my skepticism, I've been able to try several of Deb's oils, and I must say they do work for what she gives them to me for! The two I use the most from her are a bug spray, because if there is a biting bug anywhere in the area it is going to find me....and then also her own mix of oils to help me get rid of my once or twice a year cold sore. On Guard seems to be a super popular oil within our group too! I also recently found out my mom and partner use a lot of doTerra in their home (way to pay attention, I know!) so I bought them a few more for Christmas.
I guess little by little, Deb has been changing my view of Essential Oils. She is super passionate about them, and loves to just chat about their benefits. She has a way of talking about them without making it sound like she is selling it to you, which is something I honestly appreciate! Her motto of changing the world one drop at a time, is truly inspiring to this gal!Deb and her Oil friends also have a local place here in Lincoln where they host monthly classes helping to teach a little more about Essential Oils and how they can improve your life. Feel free to check them out sometime!

Scott and Tara Get Married | Nebraska Weddings Fremont Lake State Rec
Alexis met Scott and Tara last year through a site called Thumbtack when they were looking for a wedding photographer. We got along great! They were going to have a small wedding at Fremont Lake State Recreation Area in Fremont, Nebraska surrounded by their close friends and family. Their wedding party were their biggest supporters, their kids. It was a beautiful June evening, with an amazing sunset. Their sweet ceremony took place on the outside deck of the clubhouse, and ended with fun and laughter until the beautifully lit up deck. This was a perfect summer wedding!

Mother’s Day 2016: Encouragement to Be In Pictures with your Kids and Family
Mother's Day 2016
Usually when I decide to finally get my stuff in gear and do a little blog writing it is more about our beautiful clients and their families, weddings, engagements, life events like having a graduating child or bringing a newborn home. Today being Mother's Day, and me being an ultimate procrastinator making this towards the end of the day, I felt the need to write a little about being a mom.
Being a mom, but not in the typical you change diapers, you do laundry, you yell the same thing repeatedly all day long type mom blog post. I wanted to write more about being a mom and being in pictures. One of the biggest gifts I think we can leave behind for those we love besides our morals, talents, life lessons, etc, is a picture of us to remember who we were.
As mothers, I think we have become more and more guilty about not being present in pictures with our kids. Oftentimes I hear moms say they can't be in a picture because their hair or makeup isn't done, their clothing isn't perfect, their weight isn't ideal, they were caught off guard, they need to wash their hair, etc, etc, etc.
As women and moms, we can point out our flaws faster than a hot knife through butter, but if we were to ask our kids what they thought about us (probably not teens, because we all know they really secretly love their parents, but outwardly dislike everything), I am sure the kids would say things like she makes good kool-aid, or I like her squishy belly to lay my head on, or she looks like a princess when she wears a pretty dress.
Kids love without flaw. Therefore, when they look at a picture 50 or 60 years down the road, most likely when they are sharing a story with their grandchild and we are long gone, they will be telling stories of their mamma and some crazy adventure you had, or about how you loved to have picnics, or never could take a picture without laughing.
So take this as your friendly photographer and mom PSA.....Be in the picture....
Here's our Mother's day weekend pictures
We were able to spend an amazing weekend with family. My husband's brother and wife and kids were in from out of state for her brother's graduation and they had invited us to come and celebrate with them. Huge Congrats to Nick on such an amazing accomplishment on his college Degree! Brian and Mollie have had us out to Mollie's family's place several times and we love seeing them all. This of course was no exception. Brian and my husband Ken's mom and stepdad were also there. So, I took it as a great opportunity to grab some Mom pictures! I didn't really give my mother in law much of an option and she humored me well. Two of her three kids were there with her. We miss Kris and her family tons and wish they could visit more often!
Of course it is giggles with this family...and out of focus pictures, but laughter trumps focus any day!
Then we threw in the grand kids that were present....
I was also able to grab some pictures of my sister in law, Mollie and her two kids. I admire Mollie on so many levels and am glad that she is always willing to jump into pictures!
I don't think we can have a post of moms without having a face being cleaned off by good ole finger washing....
Since her mom was there, I made her get in some pictures too!
I've seen Mollie make this face so many times that I had to include it!
Having her baby girl move away has been hard on this mom, but these ladies are close as ever and I love seeing the bond between them.
And of course I had to get one of me and Mollie too...
Then I got to go see my mom. I love her more than words and she is absolutely my rock and bestie. She is just an amazing lady. She wanted to know if I wanted her to put something nice on, Nah....let's just be in some pictures together mom...
and here are some with my two kiddos.....she couldn't quit laughing, which of course is part of why I love her so.

Jayne & Chase Get Married at Mahoney State Park! Nebraska Weddings
These two....I seriously love them. I could have a bias opinion to begin with though. Chase is my baby brother. He is funny, sweet, loving, and drove me crazy growing up. I am 10 years older than he is, and many times I have been more than a big sister. Jayne is a nurse, she has a daughter named Addy, and by some great design, she chose my baby brother to spend the rest of her days with. She likes to laugh, has become a friend, and I am so happy to know her. Their wedding was smaller, they had a few snags along the way, but it was beautifully done. Burlap and lace decorated the lodge at Mahoney State Park outside of Ashland, NE, and it overlooked the Platte River. The day wasn't too hot or cold, and the rain held off until later that evening. Lots of family and a some good friends came to celebrate with them. I was honored to capture their day for them. Love you both! Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Nelson!!

Briallen // Lincoln Southeast High School // Senior Class of 2021
Senior pictures are meant to be exciting and uniquely you, but I know they can be daunting too. When you schedule your senior photoshoot, we'll talk through a variety of locations that make you feel like you! From there, make sure to choose a variety of outfits that show who you are both inside and out. You'll want outfits that you're comfortable in, describe your passions, along with an outfit that mom wants on her fridge! I'll make sure your photoshoot will be a time to remember!
Congratulations to Briallen on her senior year at Lincoln Southeast High School!
Southeast JV soccer guys 2016: Lincoln Nebraska Soccer Life
Soccer mom....I've been called that alot. This year more so. Between Ashley and myself (Alexis) our kids play a bunch of different sports and we almost always have our camera in hand and take tons of pictures at each game. This has given us many opportunities and allowed us to meet a ton of great people over the years. It is natural for us to include sports photography as a huge part of our business. We love it!
Well, my two kids play soccer, all the time, every season, all year long, sometimes on more than one team. This Spring season has been no different, with the exception that our oldest made the JV high school team at Southeast High School. He was one of the 6 freshmen on the team and we weren't so sure what to expect. The parents were great and welcoming though and helped us figure our way through the season. The JV boys had the best record of the 3 boy teams of 8 -6, and were just really great guys. I took lots of pictures at all the games I could attend and was asked to put together a slideshow for their end of year banquet, which of course I did in true to Alexis form, finishing 5 minutes before we had to be there.
So family, friends, and those just curious....here it is... Enjoy!
Brunke Family Photos Lincoln Wilderness Park | Lifestyle Photography
We met the Brunkes through the Montessori School for Young Children in Lincoln several years ago and have had the privileged to take their kids pictures for the last several years. When they asked us to do family pictures we were super excited to do so! They love to be outside and play so picking Wilderness Park was a great choice to take them for these special moments. Katie let me know that they've never actually done family photos before and I told them they acted like old pros! How cute are these guys!?!

Curtis & Amber are getting Married: Clatonia Wedding, Nebraska wedding day
Tomorrow is Amber & Curtis' wedding day! After over a year of planning their big day has finally come and I couldn't be happier for the two of them. These two are some of the sweetest people I've ever met. Down to earth, love their families and friends, hard working and totally in love, are all things that come to mind when I think of these two.
Last year we were able to get some pictures of just the two of them, even though we had to break it up over a couple of days thanks to rain. It gave me a chance to get to know them even more!
I know their wedding day is going to be a beautiful one!
Curtis proposed at a Garth Brooks concert! Love me some Garth!!!
Courtney & Joe are Engaged! | Nebraska Weddings and Engagements in Lincoln Nebraska
I was so excited to photograph Courtney & Joe's wedding but thought I should share some of their engagement pictures before showing off their wedding! Here is a look back, not too many months ago of their engagement session. I got to travel to Omaha, which was a nice change from Lincoln and I see some places that were new to me there. We got to visit downtown Elkhorn and a local Omaha park/lake for some fun pictures. These two had me smiling, and laughing as we talked about their love for teaching, music, occasional fishing, and late night gaming. Both music teachers and role models, these two are very much in love, and it shined through!Their wedding was beautiful with a mixture of great music, laughter, family and friends. Be on the look out for pictures from their special day....

Christmas Mini Sessions Clancy, Warren, and Brennan Families|Lincoln Nebraska Family Photography
To help get you in the Christmas spirit, here are some of our favorite pictures from a few of our favorite families who came to our Lincoln studio on a snowy Saturday morning to have fun with us in our Christmas Mini Sessions (and enjoyed the yummy cupcakes from Le Cupcake). The Clancy's (Ann, Patrick, and Olivia), the Warren's (Jay, Jessica, Stella, and Liam), and the Brennan's (Joe, Kari, Starla, Emma, and Alex), were all great sports and let us take some "not your ordinary Christmas picture" pictures. We especially love the expressions on the kids' faces, so funny! Thanks for coming out and letting us capture the personalities of your families, you rock!

It starts when two people fall in Love…
Families get to be big. Two people meet, get married, and Bam! 62 years later, this is the result. My friend Kolette approached me with doing family pictures in Lincoln Ne, for her when all her family was going to be in town. I've done her immediate family a couple of times, and I know some of the other members (one is my friend Amanda), but she warned me...this will be alot of people. They had the majority of everyone there (minus just a couple folks) from old to brand new and in between.I love seeing huge families get together. It just doesn't happen that often anymore. I can remember my own family reunions, seeing Aunts and Uncles that said they last saw me when I was "this tall", cousins that I got to play with and we never seemed to not get along, and my grandparents with their siblings......I miss those days. And of course I got some fun pictures of Kolette's kiddos too....they really love the camera...
